What does it mean to me to join the Hudson School Board?
I believe effective school board members contribute their unique talents while collaborating and working as a team with other board members. If elected, I will always lead with sound judgment, a willingness to collaborate and my sincere interest in the most ideal outcomes for public education, all students, and our community.
My commitments as a board member, if elected:
-
Adopt a fiscally sound district budget. This is a critical priority for our district right now. I will explore realistic solutions to finances and the fiscal health of the district, including state and federal policy and funding obstacles. I will listen to passionate parents, underrepresented residents, and all taxpayers and consider the implications of our decisions on all.
-
Focus on what is best for all students. I will focus on student achievement and implementing policies that will ensure success for all students. Of particular interest to me are the integration of technology with school experiences and mental health, the balancing of athletics and arts and real-world experiences with academics, and the care and value of our teachers and staff.
-
Advocate at the local, state and national level for public education. I will take advantage of opportunities to communicate the needs of public schools to other levels of government and advocate for strong public schools, as I believe they are critical to strong communities and economies.
-
Communicate our actions to the community. I commit to working with the board to keep the public informed of the district’s progress and challenges.
-
Work as a team. I will collaborate with others and be respectful of the other board members, the superintendent and all staff, and members of the community.
